Conference
format
The meeting will provide an informal workshop atmosphere with ample
time for discussions. The program will contain a
limited number of invited lectures on the main conference topics and
some oral contributions selected from the submitted abstracts. All
other contributions will be presented in poster sessions. There will be
no parallel sessions. This format is intended to promote stimulating
discussions on current developments and we expect all the participants
to attend the entire meeting.
The
Conference Proceedings containing
both the invited and contributed
papers will be published by Elsevier in a special issue of
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics
Research, Section B (NIMB). The manuscripts must be submitted during
the conference and will be subject to a regular review. The total
number of participants will be limited to around 100.

Instructions
for Poster
Presentations
Poster sessions will be preceded by "poster introductions", where the
authors have the opportunity to orally present highlights of their work
as a "2 minute commercial". Each presenter of a poster should therefore
prepare one- or two-page presentation in a USB memory-stick or
CD/DVD. This is not intended to be a complete talk in 2 minutes, but
rather an opportunity to attract other participants to your poster.
Your poster should fit in a square with dimensions of 4 feet x 4 feet
(122 cm. x 122
cm).
Instructions
for Oral
Presentations
The time allocated for talks will be
- Plenary lectures (P):
40 min + 5 min discussion;
- Invited progress
reports (R): 25 min + 5 min discussion;
- Selected short oral
contributions (S): 15 min + 5 min discussion.
Chairpersons will be instructed to limit your speaking time rather than
the discussion time. We will provide a digital projector connected to a
Laptop (running MS-Windows 7) and MS Office 2007. Electronic
presentations should
preferentially be transferred to this PC via USB memory-stick or
CD/DVD. In case you really need to use
your own laptop (different operating system, different presentation
software, etc.) a video-switch will be available. Any additional
requirements should requested in advance.
