Physics Division Seminars

Physics Division Seminars bring us speakers on a variety of physics related subjects. Usually these are held in the Building 6008 large Conference Room, at 3:00 pm on the chosen day, but times and locations may vary. For more information, contact our seminar chairman,

Successful g-factor measurements with radioactive beams - where we're at and where we're going

Andrew Stuchbery, Australian National University, Canberra, Australia
Building 6008 Conference Room

In the latter half of 2004 we made great progress with excited-state g-factor measurements on radioactive beams, both at HRIBF and NSCL. The experiments at the two facilities involve different techniques and focus on different mass regions (A ~ 130 at HRIBF, N ~ 28 at NSCL). This talk will review progress and include the stable-beam work at ANU undertaken to support the radioactive beam measurements.
