Physics Division Seminars bring us speakers on a variety of physics related subjects. Usually these are held in the Building 6008 large Conference Room, at 3:00 pm on the chosen day, but times and locations may vary. For more information, contact our seminar chairman,

Two-particle correlations have been used for over 40 years to extract space-time information from high energy collisions. During that time there have been many advances in both theory and experimental techniques. Yet, recent results from the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider have defied both simplistic expectations and current hydrodynamic calculations. We will review recent results in the field and discuss the various assumptions in both experiment and theory. The implications for understanding the space-time evolution at RHIC will be discussed.
