Physics Division Seminars bring us speakers on a variety of physics related subjects. Usually these are held in the Building 6008 large Conference Room, at 3:00 pm on the chosen day, but times and locations may vary. For more information, contact our seminar chairman,

During the last years great progress has been achieved in understanding the QCD phase diagram. It turned out that at densities few times larger than that of nuclear matter color condensate of quarks emerges. We present a comparative analysis of color superconductivity and the BCS theory of ordinary superconductors. In particular the crossover between the BCS regime and Bose condensation regime is discussed. We also try to answer the question whether quarks in color superconductor form a Cooper-type pairs,or molecular-like Shafroth pairs.
