SNS - Present and Future Instrument Capabilities

Ian S Anderson, ORNL Spallation Neutron Source
Building 6008 Conference Room

The instrument suite at SNS is being developed to meet research challenges in a wide range of science disciplines. New developments in a number of the critical instrument components including beam optics, detectors, sample environments and software have enabled us to build on the high peak flux and unprecedented counting rates and provide measurement capabilities that go well beyond the current state of the art. An overview will be given of the SNS instrumentation highlighting areas of innovation in component design.
