18th International Workshop on Inelastic Ion-Surface Collisions (IISC-18)

September 26 – October 1, 2010, Gatlinburg, Tennessee, USA

Location

The workshop will take place at the Park Vista Hotel in the city of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, which is ~50 miles from the Knoxville airport, 70 miles from Oak Ridge National Laboratory and ~200 miles from the international airports of Atlanta and Nashville. The hotel is on a hill above the city of Gatlinburg and at the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The Park Vista Hotel is a full-service hotel that will provide you with all the amenities that you would expect. This conference location provides a reasonably isolated setting for the IISC-18 workshop since the walk to the city is relatively strenuous. For those participants who find it too strenuous, there is a regularly scheduled trolley transportation from hotel to Gatlinburg..

If you plan to stay a few extra days after the workshop, this location provides plenty of additional opportunities such as hiking, rafting, fishing, horseback riding, shopping, dinning, amusement parks,etc. Look here for more information.
