It is the tradition of the conference to be located in a fairly remote area surrounded by natural beauty. Lodging and meals should be centrally located to allow participants the opportunity for interaction. We feel the selection of Callaway Gardens as our venue fulfills this tradition admirably. The meeting facility of Callaway Gardens is the Southern Pine Conference Center which opened in Fall 2002. This modern facility was designed to blend in well with the surroundings and was built in an environmentally sound manner. The center is surrounded by 155 cottages in a peaceful, woodland setting.
The center has 22,000 sq. ft. of meeting space with two large ballrooms and many smaller breakout rooms. We will occupy the entire center. Floor plans may be found on the Southern Pine web page. A lounge and adjacent large patio should provide a relaxing atmosphere for the evening sessions. The center is a short walk from the 155 two-bedroom cottages of the Southern Pine. We have reserved 100 of the cottages; each cottage consists of two private bedrooms with attached baths. The common area consists of a kitchen, family room with fire place and television, and a screen porch with ceiling fan. Although an entire cottage may be reserved, the preferred accommodation is a half-cottage. As each half-cottage has two large beds, the most economical mode is for two participants to share a half-cottage. Meals will be provided and are included with the cost of the accomodations. Special arrangements will be made for accompanying persons.
Registration and accommodations will be reserved through the conference and NOT with Callaway Gardens!
