Our present focus is on the fusion mechianism with proton-rich and
neutron-rich nuclei at energies near the Coulomb barrier.
Inverse kinematic reactions and the
gas filled split-pole
spectrograph are used to optmize the efficiency for
evaporation residue (ER) collection.
The focal plane detector provides
position, energy and time-of-flight information for particle
identification. ER can be identified even when a large elastic
scattering rate is present.
