Gamma Chamber

This chamber will attach to the back flange behind the focal plane detector (PSAC). Its simple design will allow implantation of recoils on either a foil catcher such as Pb or Al or on the head of the tape system which can remove any activities. Two clover Ge detectors may be inserted on opposite sides of the chamber so that the source to detector distance is on the order of a few centimeters. A double sided silicon strip detectors or Si detector can be located behind the catcher as can an X-ray detector. The approximate size of the chamber frame is 25 x 25 x 30 cm (H x W x L).
