4.11 Input/Output

All programs can perform serial I/O using the standard UNIX routines. CM Fortran programs can also access files in parallel or serial mode by calling procedures from the CMF Utility Library. C* programs can perform parallel I/O using routines from the Connection Machine File System.

Control parallel programs can access files in parallel through calls to procedures in CMMD. Furthermore, since each CMMD program is considered by CMOST to be a single process, all the node programs share the UNIX streams stdin, stdout, and stderr. For more details, please see [5].
